The no-poo method

The "No-poo" method

My hair is short, dry, unmanageable and always feels as if I have fried it multiple times over with a hair straightener, even though I have only used a hair straightener about 3 times my whole life and I never use any heating tool's or styling products, It also seems that anytime I try and grow it out past 4-5" the end of my hair looks HORRIBLE! So we have tried a lot of different things (hot oil treatments, leave-in conditioner, etc.) and spent a lot of money trying to find something to make my hair softer and more manageable, and maybe let me grow out my hair past 5" none of the many things we tried helped at all.

So the other day I was researching things that are good for your hair and came across this web page that said the "no-poo" method I was intrigued and clicked on it this is what a came upon:

The  point of the "no-poo" method was that you use no shampoo (hence the No-poo) that not only cleans your hair but also strips it of the natural vitamin's and oil's which of course is bad, Instead you were supposed to use  a homemade formula that consist of ingredients that most people have around the house. so I tried it up to today I have needless to say it had worked! Other than all the other things we have tried in the past we finally found something so, if your hair is anything like mine, you want to save money, or just want nicer hair read the recipe below hope you enjoy!

No-poo "shampoo" ingredients:
baking soda
Funnel or piece of paper
water (just regular tap water will work fine)
and a bottle to put the "no-poo" in ( i just used a hair dye bottle from sally beauty supply for about a dollar)

1. Fill empty clean bottle about all the way full with the water

2. Put 2 table spoons of baking soda for every 8 ounces of water into the bottle and shake it up

3. when you go to wash your hair grab your "No-poo" and squirt a decent amount into your hair massage the scalp for about a minute and rinse out after a couple of uses your hair should be more manageable sleek and smooth if you have any question's or comments please comment below

No-poo "conditioner":
First you will need:
Apple cider vinegar
Honey
Water
And another bottle

1. Fill empty clean bottle about half way e.g. if you have and 8 ounce bottle fill 3 1/2 ounces with  apple cider vinegar so when you put the rest of the ingredients in your bottle won't over flow like mine did the time

2. Fill the remainder of the bottle with the water leaving a little space at the top.

3. Put about 1 teaspoon of honey for every 8 ounce's of  vinegar/water mixture and shake until the honey dissolves

4. If you desire you can put a couple drops of  essential oil so the vinegar doesn't smell as bad (the smell of the vinegar will not linger once you have rinsed out the no-poo conditioner)

5. Next time you have a shower after you use the no-poo shampoo (above) just squirt some of this rinse you made in your hair, make sure its covered fully and then rinse right out your hair should not smell like vinegar anymore if it does its not rinsed out all the way.

Thanks hope you enjoy!

DIY Christmas count down tree...

                                DIY Christmas count down tree...
Alright so this is something you can do with a real Christmas tree or one I will show you to make in this post.
This is the one I made, we do not have a real Christmas tree so I  made this one.

Supplies you will need:
If you already have a real Christmas tree:
24 Ornaments (already decorated or plain white/clear ones)
25 Little boxes That one of your ornaments will fit in
(you can find these at also at hobby lobby and most craft stores)
A star or angel for the top
Paper of your choice
A black sharpie
Things to decorate your ornaments/star e.g.: Glitter, Scrap-booking paper, Stickers, Ribbon, Jewels etc.

If you want to make your own like I did:
1 big piece of foam core board ( you can get this at hobby lobby for less than $3)
Green paper (or card-stock )
White paper (or card-stock )
black marker (not sharpie)
Glue stick
      scissors
razor blade or carpet knife
Something round to trace around for the ornaments about 2 1/2 inches around (I used a hand sewing needle case)
Things to decorate your ornaments/star e.g.: Glitter, Scrap-booking paper, Stickers, Ribbon, Jewels etc.

Instructions for regular tree:
First if your box's have lid's then take of the lid's and on the inside of each little box use the black sharpie to  write a date on the inside, or on the front e.g.:
November 1
November 2
November 3
November 4
November 5
all the way to the 25th (Christmas).
If your box's do not have lids  write the dates on the top or outside of the box's.
Then for each little box cut a large strip of paper and write different things on all 25
(see Idea's for the papers: at the very end of the post)
Then put a slip of paper and an ornament in each box and stack them by the Christmas tree.
Each day starting on November 1st let one of the kids open a box and decorate/place the ornament on the tree (save the last box with the star in it for Christmas day.)

Instructions for diy tree:
First cut your foam core board into a triangle (your tree)

After you have that done take your glue stick and cover the whole front of the "Tree" in glue and lay out the green paper on it so the paper is covering the whole thing
Now take your razor blade/carpet knife and cut off the excess paper of the edges of the "Tree" so you have a green triangle

Next you need your round object to trace with and the white paper/card stock
trace around said round object (first make sure that 24 of these round things will fit on your tree)
onto the white paper

Make 24 of these and cut them out These will be your "ornaments"

now get your green paper fold it in half and make a crease

then unfold it and fold the sides in like this

and cut 3" squares out of this paper making the fold on the bottom of these squares

so you end up with something like this

now take a piece of green paper and make 3 1/2 inch long strips out of this
take the glue stick and make two dots of glue on the BACK like this

and put the strip of paper on the inside of the square and fold the edges around and secure them in the glue

now place the "ornament's" inside these squares you should end up with something like this:

on the inside flap of the pockets write the date, how many days till Christmas and different things to do on that day (see ideas for papers: at eh very bottom of the post) on each pocket

now lay out your ornament holders out on our tree Starting with November 1st at the very bottom and November 24th at the very top
And finish of with A star on the top that says 25th or merry Christmas

Now every day starting on November 1st let one of the kids take the ornament for that day and decorate it and glue it onto the outside of the pocket it came out of and do said thing on the inside of the pocket (see Idea's for the papers: at the very bottom of this post)and glue or tape the pocket shut save the star for Christmas day and place this on the very top of the tree.
Merry Christmas!!!

My 13th surprise birthday party!

Ok so this last march I turned 13 and of course I wanted a really cool party, but we couldn't really afford it for a while and after a while of me trying to plan stuff and trying to figure out who to invite and who not to etc.

I just asked my mom for a surprise  party (just a couple weeks ago) she said she would and that was that a couple days ago we were talking about it and I said just make sure Makayla, Kira, and Blondie are there and no clowns and we're good.

I expected it to be quite a while before I actually got my party. So this last Sunday my mom said we were all going to go have a nice family dinner at Napoli's (one of my favorite restaurants) and my first reaction was "What happened, who did what" and she just said we have money so we're going to dinner and a movie, so on Friday night she told me to pack a whole bunch of my funky clothes my make-up, jewelry, hair stuff and all my shoes because my older sister Sprite (who doesn't live with us anymore because she's old now) wanted to have a sleepover and do a rock star photoshoot (of course I bought it that's the kinda thing we do at sleepovers).

So we packed, got in the car and headed to pick my brother Kainan up from Josh's house (where I had no idea I was actually having a surprise party) so we got there and I almost stayed in the car, that probably wouldn't  help :) Anyway so we went in to get Kainan and I sat down in the living room were everyone was hiding yet I didn't see a single person (nor a married person HA HA :)

So im just sitting there petting they're dogs and my mom keeps saying OK Paris like i was supposed to do something and I started getting confused then finally everyone jumped out and they were hiding in the most obvious places I could not BELIEVE  I couldn't see any of them!

At first i didn't really get what was happening I was like what the heck mom why didn't you tell me we were here for someones surprise party?!?! and then it clicked.

Well lets just say I was extremely excited so much so I kept on shouting "SURPRISE" every once and a while. So all of my really good friends were there Blondie :), Makayla, Kira (who's house the party was at because our house is to small), Megan, Tyler my really old friend I hadn't seen in a LONG time, Mr. Kelly, Karen, Kimmi, Josh, Sprite, and Nick.

My mom had even sneaked out to bake and decorate a cake for me.  The cake was BEAUTIFUL and yummy :)

So we all got to know each other and hung out for a while (because most of my friends hadn't met each other before) then we did some serious  rock star make-up and dressed up and danced all night long! then we did present time and nails. My favorite gift ~ I'm not going to lie was my new sewing  machine!!

I gave everyone Glittery Rock Star Lips!

I ROCKED Kira's Purple wig!!  I want one!!

My big brothers (Kainan and Jaedin *Jaedin is the SciFi geek doing the Star Trek hand thing) stopped by for a few minutes to say hi... along with my dad, who had to play with the dogs, of course:

anyways most of the girls went to bed around 1:00am but of course Blondie and I stayed up till' about 4 talking and laughing so we had a REALLY fun night though I'm sad makayla couldn't stay the night it was still pretty awesome

This is my big sister Sprite, who is now away at school in CO, so we won't get to see her for a couple of months:(

THANKS MOM!
